Cirurgias menos invasivas com alta precisão

How does robotic surgery work?

The use of the da Vinci® robot allows the surgeon to operate comfortably, viewing surgical images in 3-D.  The surgeon manipulates the controls with hands and wrists naturally positioned in relation to your eyes.  The system immediately translates the surgeon's hand, wrist and finger movements into precise, real-time movements for the surgical clamps.  The two platforms currently available in Brazil are the Si and the Xi system.

The surgeon controls all movements of the robotic arms and tweezers. This system is called the “Da VinciXi Robotic Surgical System” and allows the surgeon to perform movements more accurately. Eliminates the surgeon's hand tremors and magnifies the HD image to see fine details that are even difficult for the human eye to see.

More complex surgeries can be performed using a minimally invasive technique (smaller cuts) allowing for a faster recovery of the patient. However, not all patients are fit and not all surgeries can be performed using this technique.

There are risks as with any surgical procedure. It is essential to discuss with your doctor the best approach to treating your problem. Our team is prepared to perform these procedures at Hospital Meridional Cariacica.
